Ney Fabiano de Oliveira (born February 9, 1979 in São José dos Campos ), called Fabiano , is a former Brazilian football player .
He spent his early years in the lower leagues of Brazil before moving to the Thai Premier League for FC Thailand Tobacco Monopoly in 2007 . In his first year in Thailand he was the top scorer with 18 goals and helped his club to a 6th place in the league. Thereupon the reigning champions FC Chonburi signed him for the season 2008. At FC Chonburi he didn't get along at all, scoring just two goals in the 2008 season . He could hardly shine in the AFC Champions League and missed numerous opportunities. His only two goals in the competition came against Melbourne Victory . However, that appeared to be enough for Melbourne Victory to sign Fabiano immediately. During the season he moved to Australia on July 1st. Nothing is known about the amount of the transfer fee. However, both clubs agreed to work closely together in the areas of sports science and medicine.
With Melbourne Fabiano was Australian champion in 2008/09. He scored five goals in 15 missions during the season. In the final round he was only used once, in the Grand Final he was a substitute on the bench. On the 4th day of the season he was suspended for six games for spitting on his opponent Robert Cornthwaite . Fabiano was never really able to assert himself at Melbourne and was mostly substituted on. He played 30 games for the Australians and scored 6 goals. In December 2009, Ney Fabiano went back to Thailand. He signed a two-year contract with FC Bangkok Glass . In 2010 he signed a contract with his former club Chonburi FC.
