The big surprises of the season were the newcomers, who all but the FC Customs Department were able to keep the league. The 12-time champions Bangkok Bank, however, rose to the end of the season for the first time since the TPL was in the 2nd division.

Chonburi FC failed to defend their title from last year and ended up only in second place. Provincial Electricity became champions for the first time in the club's history . BEC Tero Sasana was only third in the table for the third time in a row.
