Thailand Premier League 1998

The 1998 Thailand Premier League consisted of 12 teams. The league was also known as the Caltex Premier League at the time.

At the end of the season, the FC Royal Thai Air Force celebrated their 13th club history title.

Relegation

The 11th placed of the season had to compete in the relegation against the runner-up of the Thailand Division 1 League .

The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration met the Assumption School Sriracha from the 2nd division and was able to secure their stay in the TPL with a victory.

Queen's Cup

The Queen's Cup sponsored by Singha did not take place this season due to a lack of funds.

Thailand FA Cup

The FC Bangkok Bank won for the third time in club history the FA Cup.

Yamaha Thailand Cup

In 1998 the Yamaha Thailand Cup was held for the 14th time. It is a competition in which mainly provincial teams from all regions of Thailand participated.

4 groups with 4 teams each played for a place in the quarter-finals, whereby the first two of the group qualified for the next round.

The final won the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration against Nakhon Si Thammarat.
