Sutee Suksomkit ( Thai : สุธี สุขสม กิจ , born June 5, 1978 ) is a Thai former football player who u. a. played for the club FC Bangkok Glass and the Thai national team. He preferred to play as a left winger, but was also used as a striker.

Club career

Sutee began his career in the youth team at FC Bangkok Christian College before moving to FC Thai Farmers Bank in 1995. The club had just won the AFC Champions League for the second time and had its most successful period behind them. For Sutee, the club was still a stepping stone in his career. With Charnwit Polcheewin , he also had a coach who promoted him. Later Charnwit was also his coach for the youth national teams and the Thai national soccer team . With 13 and 16 goals respectively, Sutee was the top scorer of the Thai Premier League in 1999 and 2000 .

After the club was deregistered from the game in 2001, Sutee moved to Singapore in the S-League . There he signed a contract with Tanjong Pagar United . Personally, he had a lot of appearances for the club and was also successful with goals. However, he could not win a title with the club. In 2003 he moved to Home United within the league. In his first season he was the S-League champion with the club. In the following year, he also played his part in ensuring that the club made it to the semi-finals of the AFC Cup . He played for the club for a total of three years before taking on a new challenge with the Tampines Rovers . In 2004 Sutee Suksomkit had an offer from Busan I'Park to switch to the K-League . But the transfer did not take place at the last minute. In September 2009 it was announced that Sutee had signed a 3-month contract with Melbourne Victory . For Tampine Rovers he completed a total of 110 games and was able to achieve 30 goals.

He made his debut for Melbourne on October 24, 2009 and prepared the 1-0. By the end of December 2009, he played all 9 possible games for Melbourne, albeit mostly as a substitute.

He then went back to Thailand, where he signed a contract with FC Bangkok Glass.

National team

In 1996 his national team career began in the U-16s . He reached the final of the U-16 Asian Cup with the team in 1996 and took part in the U-17 World Cup with her a year later . Thailand was eliminated after the group round, Sutee was able to score 2 goals in the course of the tournament. After the U-16, he also passed the age groups U-19 and U-23 . Unlike many Thai players in his age group, he never took part in the Southeast Asian Games. 1999 was part of the U-23 squad which sought to qualify for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney. In 2000 he was appointed to the squad of the men's national team for the first time and has been an integral part of the squad ever since. Since his first appointment, he has participated in all major Asian tournaments. At the 2004 Asian Football Championship , Sutee scored the only goal in Thailand during the tournament. In 2006, at the age of 28, Sutee was again in the squad of a U-23 national team. He took part with her in the Asian Games in 2006. Against Qatar they were eliminated in the quarterfinals.

In July 2009, the national team played a friendly against Liverpool FC . Sutee made it 1: 1 for the final score.
