The Krabi Football Club ( Thai : สโมสร ฟุตบอล จังหวัด กระบี่ ) is a football club founded in 2009 with operations in the Thai League 3, the third division in the Thai league system . The team made it into the second highest division in the country in the 2011 season as champions of the Southern Region Regional League Division 2 and as the subsequent play-off winner. There were The Andaman Eagles , the nickname of the team, since in appearance. After the 2018 season you had to start your way to the third division.

history

History from 2009 to 2011

The club was founded in 2009 and got a license to participate in the third-rate Thai Regional League Division 2 - Southern Division , one of several parallel seasons. In the first year of the game, the team finished after 14 championship games on the fifth of eight places in the final classification of the five-track third division. The team suffered the biggest loss of the season in the Southern Division in a 4-0 defeat against Pattani FC . In the following 2010 season, the season was expanded by five teams, with Krabi FC again finishing the year in sixth place out of 13 and not far from being promoted to the top. However, this changed in the 2011 game year when the team was two points ahead of the dangerous and defensive Phattalung FC in the final ranking in first place in the table. Together with Phattalung, Krabi then took part in the subsequent promotion play-offs, from which Krabi FC also emerged as one of the promoted players.

Second division season 2012

In the first second division season in the still young history of the club, the club from the south of Thailand was able to establish itself quickly and finished in 6th place out of 18 teams. With the two Nigerians Anayo Cosmas and Justin Uche, the two South Koreans Lee Jong-Yun and Kim Seung-Myung, as well as the Brazilian Cristiano Lopes and the Laotian Soukaphone Vongchiengkham, Krabi FC had six legionnaires in its ranks, who otherwise only consisted of local players . Among the most successful goal scorers were Lopes and the two Thais Ekkachai Nuikhao and Thaweephong Ja-reanroob with seven goals each, none of which reached the 23 goals of top scorer Lee Tuck. In the FA Cup , the team moved into the third round after a 4-1 win in the second round over JW Rangsit FC, where the team was eliminated from the current tournament with just 1: 2 after extra time against Ayutthaya FC . The team suffered a similar fate in the League Cup, where the team only lost on penalties against Customs United FC after a 4-2 first round win over Chiangrai FC in the second round .

Second division season 2013

In 2013, the team under coach Paiboon Lertvimonrut was supplied by supplier Diadora , and Thai AirAsia appeared as a shirt sponsor . As in the previous year, the number of foreign players per team was limited to seven. Krabi FC took advantage of this number in 2013; With the Brazilian Valci Júnior, the Burkinabe Jean-Michel Gnonka, the Cameroonian John Mary, the Nigerian Anayo Cosmas, the Serb Bojan Mamić, the South Korean Ju Myeong-Gyu and the Laotian Soukaphone Vongchiengkham these seven players were complete. In the sometimes very closely staggered final table, the Andaman Eagles reached a ninth place and thus a place in the middle of the table of the Thai second division, which is limited to 18 teams. The most dangerous player was the Cameroonian John Mary, who scored ten league goals, followed by the Brazilian Valci Júnior with new goals, who had already scored eight goals for Rayong United FC this year, with 17 goals on the fourth place in the league-wide list of goalscorers. A quick end came for the club from Krabi in the FA Cup (Thailand) when the team lost 2-1 to Trat FC in the first game in the second round . In the League Cup, Krabi FC entered the second round after a narrow victory on penalties over third division club Nong Bua Lamphu FC and were eliminated 1: 2 against PTT Rayong FC .

Second division season 2014

Under the new coach Chayaphol Kotchasan, the club also received a new outfitter Diadora this year, followed by a local provider, Ego Sports. While the sports equipment supplier changed, the shirt sponsor Thai AirAsia remained. As in the previous year, seven legionnaires were deployed again in 2014. In addition to the Brazilians Erivaldo Oliveira da Silva and Patrick Roberto Daniel da Silva, these were the Burkinabe Jean-Michel Gnonka, the Dutchman Jean Black, the Nigerian Anayo Cosmas, and the Japanese Ryohei Maeda. In the final table of the partly also closely staggered league, Krabi FC this time ranked tenth. The most successful goalscorer this season was new signing Erivaldo Oliveira with twelve goals, with whom he ranked 10th in the league-wide goalscorer list. Erivaldo Oliveira was also named Player of the Month in August 2014 and, alongside Patrick da Silva, was one of two Krabi players who managed a hat trick this season . And this in the same game, a 6-2 win over Sriracha FC on August 10, 2014. Krabi FC was not represented in either the FA Cup or the League Cup this year.

Second division season 2015

The team started the 2015 game year under the new coach Vorawan Chitavanich, who previously looked after league rivals Angthong FC before he was replaced by the German Reiner Maurer . Vorawan Chitavanich was elected coach des Monas in April of the previous year and had led Ang Thong to eighth place in the final standings. The kit supplier as well as the shirt sponsor of Krabi FC stayed the same this year. The rules were changed before this season, which is why only five foreign players were allowed per team, at least one of whom had to come from an AFC state. Before that, this rule said that seven foreign players could be hired, at least one of whom had to come from an AFC state. In the case of Krabi FC, the legionaries were the two Ivorians Koné Seydou and Kassiaty Gildas Labi, the two Namibians Tangeni Shipahu and Willy Stephanus, and the Japanese Ryohei Maeda. This year, the team on the 14th place in the table only just managed to stay in the league table, which was once again very closely spaced. The average attendance also fell significantly this year, with an average of just over 1,000 viewers per game. The top scorer was Kassiaty Gildas Labi with ten goals. However, the 2015 FA Cup season was more successful , in which Krabi FC only won after victories in the first round over Ayutthaya FC, in the second round over Royal Thai Fleet FC and in the third round over Air Force Central FC the fourth round, the actual round of 16, against the eventual second division champions Police United FC . In the Thai League Cup 2015 , after a 2-0 win over Phang Nga FC in the first round, the team was eliminated 1: 2 against Ratchaburi Mitr Phol FC in the second round .

Second division season 2016

For the 2016 game year, a lot changed again at Krabi FC, who played in the Thai Premier League Division 1. Virat Kaeyiwra took over as coach, Bangkok Airways became the jersey sponsor and the Thai company FBT appeared as the supplier . As in the previous year, the same foreigner regulation came into force. The five legionaries included the Brazilian Tardeli Barros Machado Reis, the Cameroonian Isaac Mbengan (on loan), the Ivorian Koné Seydou, the Serb Rodoljub Paunović, and again the Japanese Ryohei Maeda. There were also Ivan Bošković, Barros Tardeli and Tangeni Shipahu, who were taken over permanently in 2016 after being on loan in 2015. In the course of the 2016 game year, the team was mostly in the lower half of the table in the league and ended the year in tenth place in the table. The Namibian Tangeni Shipahu was also the team's top scorer with eight goals. In the League Cup 2016 , the team failed only on penalties in the quarter-finals against Muangthong United . By contrast, the team only reached round 2 in the 2016 FA Cup and was eliminated 2: 3 against Army United .

Second division season 2017

After the league reform in Thailand, which occasionally also brought new league names, Krabi FC appeared for the first time in the Thai League 2 in 2017 . In addition to established legionaries such as Isaac Mbengan, Koné Seydou or Ryohei Maeda, new ones such as the Brazilians Aron da Silva and Almir Barros were added. Krabi FC's top scorer last year, Tangeni Shipahu, left the club during the current season. Likewise, another legionnaire from Cambodia, the French-born Thierry Chantha Bin, who only played briefly in the service of the club. One of the most outstanding players this season, however, was a local player. Supot Jodjam, who had been in the squad from the Krabi province since the previous year, contributed a total of 23 goals in the league and was behind Jonatan Ferreira Reis, who did it for Kasetsart FC, together with João Paulo Sales de Souza from Bangkok FC had brought to 28 goals, the second best goalscorer in the league this season. Although the individual successes of their best goalscorer, who even made it into the Thai national football team this year due to his performance , Krabi FC ranked twelfth in the sometimes quite tight final ranking.

The club, which had three different coaches in its professional team this year, also had to record a decline of over 25 percent compared to the previous year in terms of audience numbers. At times, the club even ranked in a relegation zone during the championship. The 2017 FA Cup was also not very successful for the team , in which the team was eliminated in the qualifying round after the penalty shoot-out against Lampang FC . The club had a similar experience a little more than two weeks later in the League Cup 2017 , in which Krabi lost 1-0 in the qualifying play-off against league rivals PT Prachuap FC at their first appearance .

Second division season 2018

After the first game of the season still in seventh place in the table, Krabi FC slipped to 15th place and thus a relegation place by the fifth championship round. Subsequently, he was unable to free himself from this for a long time, at least made it to 14th place in the 18th lap, which was also still a relegation place. The team was only able to break away from the relegation ranks in the 20th lap, but slipped back onto them in lap 25 and has since been back in 14th place in the table (as of September 21, 2018). This year Krabi FC had some new legionnaires in their ranks. Including the native Brazilian and naturalized Vietnamese Huỳnh Kesley Alves or the Chilean Palestinian Matías Jadue, who however gave way to Ivan Vuković during the season. The 33-year-old Ryohei Maeda also left the team during the season; for him came the South Korean Kim Gwi-hyeon. There was also the new signing Victor Amaro from Brazil; the Ivorian Koné Seydou remained loyal to the club in its fourth season. In terms of attendance, Krabi was now the club with the lowest attendance in the league. Only 7,355 spectators had found their way into the stadium in 26 championship games by September 16, 2018. This meant a further decrease in viewers of around 21.5 percent compared to the previous year.

The Argentine-German coach Daniel Blanco, who briefly appeared as the coach of Army United the year before and who joined Krabi FC in December 2017, was dismissed after less than four months in office after joining the team which had led to relegation places. He was followed by the Thai Wirat Keayiwa, who was replaced as coach by the former Montenegrin national player Radoslav Batak after less than two months in late May or early June . Batak then arranged for Ivan Vuković, who also appeared in the national team for his home country in 2009, to move from Montenegro to Thailand. Batak's contract runs until summer 2019, but could be terminated in the event of a relegation to the Thai third division.

In the course of 2018, Krabi FC competed again in the Thai FA Cup. At the FA Cup 2018 , the team prevailed in the first two rounds against the two fourth division clubs Nakhon Mae Sot United and Ratchaburi Mitr Phol with 2-0, but were clearly defeated by the first division club Chainat United with 0-5 in the following third round match. In the League Cup 2018 , the team failed after defeating fourth division club IPE Samut Sakhon United in the qualifying play-off round in the subsequent first round with 1: 2 against Police Tero FC , who in 2017 after a merger of BEC -Tero Sasana with Police United was born.

Krabi FC U-23

In 2018, for the first time in its history, a second men's team took part in an official league for the club. This started its game operations in the T4 South or Thai League 4 South region , one of the six parallel seasons of the fourth highest Thai football league, the Thai League 4 . In the first official season, Krabi FC U-23 stayed in the top half of the table, finished fourth after the regular season and thus only just failed to participate in the season-closing Thai League 4 Champions League .
