FF (singer)

FF , also Fernando Fernandes , completely Fernando João Duarte do Carmo Abrantes Fernandes (born May 3, 1987 in Lisbon , Portugal ) is a Portuguese pop singer, musical artist and actor.

Life

Fernando Fernandes was born in Lisbon and spent the first seven years of his life in Almada near Lisbon. This was followed by a move to the Alentejo , where he grew up in Vila Nova da Baronia and attended school. Since 1999 he pursued his desire to make music and won the youth music festival “ Bravo Bravissimo ”, where he was seen on television for the first time. He then attended a music school in Évora for around three years, where he was taught singing, piano and violin in order to fulfill his dream of becoming a musician.

In 2002, at the age of 15, he moved to Lisbon to begin an acting training in the neighboring city of Cascais . He took part in a casting for the Portuguese television series " Morangos com Açucar ", whereby he got the role of Tome Campos and played in the third season. Other series in which he took part in full were Feitiço de Amor and Deixa-me Amar .

Since 2012 he has been a permanent member of the Portuguese imitation show " A tua cara nicht me é estranha ", where singers imitate famous singers live. There he was u. a. to be seen as Prince , Ray Charles , Freddie Mercury , Shirley Bassey , Montserrat Caballé , Mika , Kate Bush , Paulo de Carvalho , Luther Vandross , Eros Ramazzotti , Andrea Bocelli and as Carmen Miranda .

His first album sold 80,000 copies in Portugal, his second brought him a gold record with CD and DVD .

As a musical performer in Portugal he played the role of Nick Piazza in the musicals " Fame " and the role of Troy Bolton in " High School Musical 2- o espetáculo ".

His pitch is that of a baritone . In 2014 he made his first appearance in a feature film, " Eclipse em Portugal ", a film based on a true story.

Trivia

During a radio broadcast, he recited a poem by Ary dos Santos and began to cry.
He is considered the most important Carmen Miranda actor in Europe. The Brazilian singer is especially revered in Brazil and Portugal and is often imitated, also by men and transvestites . In other parts of Europe, too, she is often imitated by transvestites.
In 2012 there were rumors about the singer's alleged homosexuality . The magazine "TV 7 dias" published a detailed documentary in which the alleged partner Gonçalo Zinho, a 23-year-old, was presented. FF has so far denied all rumors in this direction and described them as a "misunderstanding".
His stage name FF is made up of the initials of his real name Fernando Fernandes, which is also used as a stage name.
