The football club Oggersheim e. V. is a soccer club from Ludwigshafen am Rhein . In 2007, the FSV rose to the Regionalliga Süd for the first time , but could not hold out in the third division and played in the then fourth division Regional League in the 2008/09 season. After a withdrawal from the regional league at the end of the season and by not registering for the major league, the FSV was initially included in the Association League Southwest. In July 2009 the association had to file for bankruptcy. The game was then discontinued and a successor club was founded. This was registered in December 2010 at the Ludwigshafen District Court. With the establishment of the successor association FSV Oggersheim e. V. , the entire game operation was renamed to the new club on March 1, 2011. All youth teams continue playing in the same season, while all senior teams started the second half of the season out of competition. From the new 2011/12 season they took part in regular gaming operations again.

Founding history

The club was founded in 1913 as VfR 1913 in the Ludwigshafen district of Oggersheim . In 1937 he merged with SC Eintracht Oggersheim , the football department of the United Turnerschaft Oggersheim , which had left the main club in 1924 , to form SpVgg Oggersheim . Just a year later, the SpVgg was merged with the rest of the local sports clubs to form the Oggersheim physical exercise community. After the ban in 1945, the club was re-established as ASV Oggersheim in the same year . In 1949 the football department resigned under the name.

Sporting development

In national amateur football, the Oggersheimers have so far only played a minor role. In 1947/48, as second behind ASV Oppau in the then second-class amateur league Vorderpfalz, they only missed by one point the leap into the Oberliga Südwest , where they could have competed with 1. FC Kaiserslautern . In the following season the FSV was third, but with a clear gap behind promoted ASV Landau . In the following season, the Oggersheimers slipped to sixth place. In 1950/51 they were second class for the last time, but with fourth place they missed the leap into the new 2nd League Southwest . From 1951 the amateur league Vorderpfalz was only third class, but Oggersheim said goodbye to this league after just one more year in 1952. It was not until 1959 that the FSV returned to the third-class Southwest amateur league. A third place in 1962 meant the best placement before they relegated back to fourth division in 1964. After that, the Oggersheimers did not draw attention to themselves again until 1977 when they qualified for the main round of the DFB Cup and met 1. FC Kaiserslautern there. They lost the home game against the Bundesliga club with 0: 3.

In 1992 they rose as champions of the Landesliga Ost again in the fifth-class Association League Southwest. After they missed promotion to the league two years later only on penalties in the play-off, it took eleven years before the FSV made it into the highest southwest German division in 2005 thanks to the financial support of the Cretan multimillionaire Emmanouil Lapidakis . As a result, they became the top-class club in the Ludwigshafen city area for the first time - the former top division club Ludwigshafener SC now plays in the Association League Southwest , the BSC Oppau now plays far below in the league pyramid; the major city club southwest Ludwigshafen is now a district league.

The FSV also submitted a license application for the regional league for the 2006/07 season. At this point in time, the Oggersheimers no longer had realistic opportunities for promotion, but were able to work ahead of time on the association's requirements for regional league teams.

In the 2006/07 season , FSV Oggersheim was promoted to the then double-track and third-class Regionalliga Süd . The first victory in the regional league was achieved by FSV Oggersheim on September 1, 2007 against 1860 Munich II 1-0. Relegation was already finalized on the 26th matchday of the 2007/08 season . In the end, the Ludwigshafeners took the last place in the table.

In the 2008/09 season , the FSV was able to establish itself in the now three-part, fourth-class regional league - the FSV competed in the West Season - and ended up in 12th place in the table. Nevertheless, the 2008/09 season ended in disaster: For financial reasons, the club was unable to continue playing in the regional league. Since one had not reported in time for the fifth-class Oberliga Südwest , in which the club wanted to consolidate financially, the FSV should compete in the sixth-class Association League Southwest in the 2009/10 season . After the club had to file for bankruptcy in July 2009, the club withdrew its two men's teams from playing. The extensive youth game operation was retained. In the 2011/12 season, the club, which was newly founded after the bankruptcy, resumed regular games in the men's area and competed in the eleventh-class 1st district class Rheinpfalz Süd. Right away, the club was runner-up in this class and was promoted to the district league. In the B-Class Rheinpfalz-Süd season 2013/14, the FSV missed promotion to the A-Class after losing two relegation games. The relegation game at the end of the 2014/2015 season to remain in the B-class was lost, but the failure to report two clubs for the next season ensured the club to remain in the B-class. In the 2015/2016 season, the 1st men's team was able to hold the B-class by winning the relegation game. After a 6th place in the 2016/17 season, the team took the last place in the 2017/18 season, which led to remaining in the class due to promotion or deregistration from the B-class.
