history
On April 4, 1904 , the club was founded under the name Laupheim Football and Fistball Club . In 1919 it was renamed to its current name. At the same time, the first successes were achieved. The soccer team rose to the A-class by 1921. Just in time for the inauguration of the new sports facility in Hasenstrasse, where the club still resides today, they were promoted to the district class. In 1934 the team became district champions and rose to the district class.
After the Second World War , members of the disbanded clubs FV Olympia, TV 1862 and TC Laupheim founded SV 04 Laupheim , which in 1947 became champions of the group south of the Landesliga Südwürttemberg . This meant promotion to the Oberliga Südwest , at that time the highest German league. However, after only three wins and seven points, the club had to accept immediate relegation as the bottom of the table.
After the renaming of SV 04 Laupheim to TSV Olympia Laupheim on May 26, 1948, the football department became independent as FV Olympia Laupheim .
In the Landesliga Südwürttemberg 1948/49 Laupheim was runner-up behind SV Weingarten . This final result was repeated in the following season. The state league was dissolved and Olympia Laupheim was incorporated into the 1st Amateur League Württemberg as one of the three best teams. Here the club failed to stay one point behind Normannia Gmünd .
In 1954 and 1958 Olympia Laupheim became Oberschwabenmeister and qualified in 1960 for the 1st Amateur League Black Forest-Bodensee. Here the team reached places in the lower midfield, in 1965 it came seventh, the club's best placement in this league. 1966 could be managed with two points ahead of relegated FV Ravensburg relegation, a year later six points were missing from Wacker Biberach to avoid relegation to the 2nd amateur league.
In 1964, those in charge of the association held an Easter tournament for A-youths unite. In 1968 the clubhouse was completed. In 1970 the Upper Swabian Championship and thus the return to the Black Forest-Lake Constance League could be celebrated again. However, 13 points were not enough to endanger the competitors in the relegation battle.
In 1981 Olympia Laupheim acquired a tennis department, and the Association of Old Olympians was founded two years later.
In 1985 he was relegated to the district league, but was immediately promoted back to the Württemberg regional league . In 1992, the team again missed relegation, this time it took two years before the promotion was made perfect. In 2003, two promotions were celebrated in the football department: on the one hand, the first team won the championship and thus promotion to the Württemberg association league , and on the other hand, the second team became champions in the district league A.
In the association league, the team was fourth straight away, but they were twelve points behind the promoted Normannia Gmünd. In 2005 she was third eight points short of SG Sonnenhof Großaspach , "the second" became district league champion and thus played in the regional league, a class lower than "the first". With three points behind SV Bonlanden in 2006 the promotion to the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg was just missed.
After relegation to the Association League in 2012, Olympia played for two years in the fourth season of the Württemberg State League. On November 4, 2012, the 1st chairman Heinz Schwarzkopf presented Colonel Hans-Christoph Specht, the commander of the Middle Helicopter Transport Regiment 25 Oberschwaben , with a blue and white Olympic jersey as thanks for his valuable support especially at the nationally known, annual international U19 Tournament in Laupheim. In 2014 he returned to the Association League, but had to leave it again in 2017.
