Fabian Vogler (born May 18, 1977 in Hamburg , Germany ) is a German artist.

activity

Since 2006 Fabian Vogler works as a freelance visual artist with a focus on sculpture / sculptures / reliefs . The central motif of his work are contemporary images of humans (super forms), the forms of which are shaped by historical, prehistoric and non-European images of humans. The motifs of his bronze reliefs are influenced by the northern German landscape.

Born in Hamburg in 1977, after completing his apprenticeship as a wood sculptor at the Vocational School for Wood Sculpture in Flensburg and studying art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna from 2002 to 2006, he acquired the stamps for his sculptural development. The Viennese school (including Gerda Fassel ), but also the Hamburg and Munich schools , gave impulses to his artistic career. After completing his Master of Fine Arts with Grenville Davey at the University of East London in 2007, he went back to the north of Germany as a freelance artist, where he now has his main place of work in a converted school. Vogler travels regularly in Europe and holds symposiums and workshops with a geographical focus on Germany, Denmark, Spain and England. He works as artist in residence in many European cities.

Vogler's sculptural work is influenced by the (pre-) historical image of man as well as current social issues that shape our image of man in today's society. The sexuality of the human being as his central characteristic is fundamental for the visual arts . Today the gender of the human being and its variations are publicly discussed topics, which in turn influence Vogler's artistic work. As a result, his work has become broader and interdisciplinary: collaborations with other art disciplines have led to book contributions and film collaborations that have become publicly known.
