description

Fabiana patagonica is a shrub that can grow to a height of 2 m with strong glandular hairs. The branches are upright and flexible. The leaves stand individually or - especially at the tips of the branches - in clusters on short shoots.

The blooms stand individually on small shoots or rarely terminally to the main branches of up to 4 mm long flower stems . The calyx is 5 to 8.5 mm (rarely 4 to 9) mm long, has a tubular calyx-tube, which is occupied with long triangular and almost equally long lobes. The crown is 11 to 20 (rarely up to 21.5) mm long and plate-shaped. The corolla tube is straight and widened below the tip. The stamens are identical, the anthers are elliptical and 0.8 to 1.4 × 0.6 to 1.3 mm in size, the counters are fused together. The scar is heady and slightly indented.

The fruit is a capsule 6 to 8 mm long. The seeds are 1.3 to 1.8 × 0.6 to 0.9 × 0.5 mm in size.

distribution

The species is widespread in Bolivia and Argentina and grows at altitudes between 1200 and 4000 m.
