Fabio Mignanelli
Fabio Mignanelli (* 1496 in Siena , † August 10, 1557 in Rome ) was a cardinal of the Catholic Church .
Life
Mignanelli was a professor at the University of Siena and later a lawyer in Rome. He married Antonina Capodiferro , the sister of Cardinal Girolamo Recanati Capodiferro . They had a son together. When he became a widower, he entered the clergy, but he had to oppose hostility about possible bigamy and criminal irregularities. He was initially in diplomatic service, including in the Republic of Venice in 1537, which he persuaded to give up their alliance with the Turks and to go to war against them. In 1540 he became Bishop of Lucera . Pope Julius IIIraised Mignantelli to cardinal on November 20, 1551 and gave him the titular church of San Silvestro in Capite . In this consistory his relative Giovanni Michele Saraceni also became cardinal. In 1556 he moved to the titular church Santi Giovanni e Paolo .
