history

On September 22, 1997, he won the world record for calculating the decimal places of pi using a method derived from the Bailey-Borwein-Plouffe formula .

In January 2010 he again set the record for the calculation of decimal places of the circle number Pi. In 131 days he calculated 2,699,999,990,000 decimal places with a standard Core i7 PC, almost 2.7 trillion .

In May 2011 he published a PC emulator programmed only in JavaScript based on typed arrays . The emulated hardware consists of a 32-bit x86 -compatible main processor , an 8259 programmable interrupt controller , an 8254 programmable interrupt timer and a 16450 UART .

On September 2, 2012, he published a complete software implementation of an LTE base station that can run on any PC without any special hardware.

In 2014 he published the new image compression format Better Portable Graphics (BPG), which delivers significantly better quality with the same file size than JPEG . The display is made possible in all current browsers by means of an approx. 72 kB JavaScript program.

In December 2016 he released an emulator for the RISC-V architecture (RISCVEMU).
