The Swiss Professional Association of Building Contaminants is an association under Swiss law , to which experts from all over Switzerland belong. The full association members have been active in the field of investigation and assessment of pollutants in buildings and systems or the planning and management of renovation projects for at least 2 years, with 500 h / year, and meet the requirements for their training and further education in accordance with the membership regulations . They are also obliged with your work in FAGES- guidelines specified quality to be observed in their work. In the public the professional association is mainly perceived as FAGES .

goals and tasks

The FAGES pursues the following goals:

  • Promotion of methods for the investigation, analysis and assessment of pollutants in buildings and systems as well as for planning measures for the rehabilitation of contaminated buildings
  • Development of quality standards for the investigation, assessment and analysis of pollutants in buildings and systems as well as for the planning of measures for the renovation of contaminated buildings
  • To promote education and training in the field of building pollutants
  • Promotion of the exchange of experience and knowledge between the members
  • To act as a competent contact for authorities and organizations in questions of dealing with pollutants in buildings and plants.

Mandates from federal offices

  • Qualification of asbestos diagnosticians in accordance with the requirements set by the Asbestos Forum (an inter-agency working group and information platform on asbestos from the FOPH , FOEN , BLL , Armasuisse , SECO , Suva and other partners).

Specialist groups

The professional association has formed the following specialist groups for the exchange of knowledge and for the development of guidelines:

  • Diagnostics: Exploring buildings and systems for pollutants
  • Analytics: Analysis of material and air samples for pollutants
  • Planning: specialist planning of pollutant remediation in buildings
  • Measurement technology: Metrological recording of pollutants in indoor air
