Falk Zimmermann (born June 9, 1971 in Berlin ) is a German volleyball and beach volleyball player . He was three times German runner-up in the sand.

Career

Beach

Zimmermann was initially only active as a recreational player. Nevertheless, he was third in the German championship in 1994 with Matthias Kuring . The next year he was able to win a CEV tournament in Greece and took third place in the European ranking. At the German championship in 1996 he was defeated by André Fröhlich only in the final to defending champions Jörg Ahmann and Axel Hager . Three years later Zimmermann and his new partner Sergei Sergejew were able to defeat the same opponents in the semifinals before they challenged Oliver Oetke and Andreas Scheuerpflug for three sets in the final . In 2002 Zimmermann played with Christoph Dieckmann and became German runner-up for the third time after losing to Thomas Hikel and Marvin Polte in the final .

Hall

In addition to his professional activity, Zimmermann played in his hometown for the Bundesliga club Eintracht Innova Berlin . With the Volley Dogs Berlin he made it to the top division in 2002. After the season he moved to the Netzhoppers Königs Wusterhausen , where he was used as a middle blocker and in the diagonal position.
