Falkenberg is a district of the municipality Trossin in the district of North Saxony in Saxony .

location

Falkenberg is located southwest of the municipality of Trossin and west of the Roitzsch district in the middle of the Feldmark, which is surrounded by the forest of the Dübener Heide . The district roads 7401 and 8901 connect the village with traffic.

history

The Slavic settlement Falkenberg was first mentioned in 1314 as Valkinberc . The name changed only insignificantly over time. The village of Falkenberg was written as early as 1406 . The rural community with chief forestry and a manor district developed as a street village with a lane part. In 1551 50 people lived in the village, in 1818 already 465 people settled in the village, in 1950 there were 683 people and in 1990 387 inhabitants were registered. The superordinate authority was once located in Eilenburg , otherwise in Torgau and from 2008 the district of North Saxony has exercised the function. The church was a parish church from 1500 to 2008 .
