Franz Kreisel (born January 6, 1890 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ; † November 18, 1960 ibid) was a German football goalkeeper , ice hockey player and coach and referee .

Career

Soccer

Kreisel, who from 1911 initially belonged to the second team of FC Bayern Munich, completed a total of 37 - according to other information 35 - games as a goalkeeper in the South German championships during his club membership. From September 1915 to July 1916 he was team captain.

In his premier season 1910/11 he played only one friendly game before he was used in the following season 1911/12 in the Ostkreis in ten games, eight of them in a row. He also played nine friendlies. He made his competitive debut on September 17, 1911 (1st matchday) in an 11-0 win at home against FC Pfeil Nürnberg .

In the 1913/14 season he played six point matches and eleven friendlies, and two friendlies in the following 1914/15 season. Kreisel was from January 4, 1915 a member of the war committee and was in the war committee meeting convened on July 28, 1915, in which a new composition took place, cashier. In his last season, 1915/16, he made 21 competitive games, also played in four friendly games and scored one goal. Franz Kreisel, who was already in the squad of MTV 1879 Munich in 1913/14 and later played at MEV 1883 Munich until December 1923 , was one of the founders of the ice hockey department of SC Riessersee in 1923 and became its sporting director. With the team he won the German championship title in the 1927 season . Kreisel ended his career as an ice hockey player in 1933 at the age of 43. Following his playing career, he worked from 1945 to 1947 as the coach of SC Riessersee. He was also one of the referees of the ice hockey competition at the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch-Partenkirchen .

International

For the German national ice hockey team , Kreisel took part in the 1928 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz . In the course of the tournament he came to two missions. At the 1930 World Cup , he and his team won the silver medal. As the best European team, Germany also became European champions. At the European Championships in 1927 he won the bronze medal with his team.
