Faraió d'Aubarca ( high - Catalan Faralló d'Albarca , " cliff of Aubarca"), also Faraió de Ferrutx , is a small rocky island off the northeast coast of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca . Administratively it belongs to the municipality of Artà .

Faraió d'Aubarca is 640 meters off the coast of Mallorca on the Morro d'Aubarca , a rocky cape between the Cap de Ferrutx in the northwest and the southeastern Cap des Freu . Except for a few lower plants, the cliff has no vegetation. The rocky island is 23 meters high and is therefore easily visible to ships during the day. The depth of the channel to the main island of Mallorca is up to 20 meters, at a distance of 25 meters around Faraió d'Aubarca the sea depth is 3 to 6 meters.

Opposite the rocky island is the former defense tower Torre des Matzoc (also Torre d'Aubarca ) at a height of 67 meters , which dominates the uninhabited coastal area. Aubarca , or Albarca , is the name of an estate after which this area of the municipality of Artà is named and which is now in public ownership. The name comes from a previously existing Arab estate called Barcat Lucat , where "barcat" means something like "river bank".
