Illa des Conills ( high - Catalan Illa dels Conills , Castilian Isla Conejera , " Rabbit Island "), also sa Conillera , is an uninhabited island of the Balearic Islands belonging to Spain . It is part of the south of Mallorca located Cabrera - archipelago , which the 10,021.5  hectares large National Park Arxipèlag de Cabrera forms. Administratively, the Cabrera archipelago belongs to the Majorcan capital Palma .

The Illa des Conills is 1.375 km² after the main island of Cabrera Gran, the second largest island in the Cabrera archipelago in terms of area. The archipelago is a southern branch of the up to 561 meter high Serres de Llevant , a mountain range on Mallorca. The highest point of the archipelago, the 172 meters measuring na Picamosques , is located on Cabrera Gran. The Illa des Conills rises north of Cabrera Gran up to 122 meters from the sea.

The lower average annual precipitation of 334 mm compared to Mallorca, which is 570 mm there, leads to vegetation formation on the Cabrera archipelago that differs from the main islands of the Balearic Islands. Juniper is widespread on the barren soils . Nevertheless, people settled on the Illa des Conills in the past, as shown by prehistoric finds discovered in six places on the island.
