Faster Than the Speed of Night from 1983 is Bonnie Tyler's fifth and most successful album . The album contains the hit Total Eclipse of the Heart , which reached number one in the UK and number three in the US singles charts.
The album debuted at number one on the UK album charts in April 1983, making Tyler the first female artist to achieve that. The album came in at number four in the US album charts.
Tyler received two Grammy nominations for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance for Faster Than the Speed of Night and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for Total Eclipse of the Heart .
