The children's film Fatty Finn is an Australian comedy film from 1980. The screenplay was based on motifs from the comic series of the same name by Syd Nicholls .
action
Ten-year-old Hubert Finn, known as Fatty Finn, lived in the 1930s in Woolloomooloo , a district in the center of Sydney in poor conditions. He and his friends stick together. Because there is Bomber Murphy, the leader of an opposing gang. Snootle, a boy from a rich family, isn't exactly one of Fatty's friends.
When Bomber and his gang bathe naked in a river, Fatty Finn and his friends appear. They throw itching powder , paint bags and rotten eggs at the boys and steal all their clothes, so that Bomber and his gang have to run home unclothed.
Fatty's greatest dream is a detector radio . But this is very expensive. He agreed with the pawnbroker that he would reserve the radio for him for a week. Fatty is now doing everything possible to get the money. He is supported by his friends. They hold a fair to get the money. But this is mixed up by bombers. When his friends then complain that Fatty is taking ten percent of their income, the children initially fall out.
And so Fatty has to try to find the money on his own. He actually manages to get the money over and over again. But those around him are always trying to thwart his plan. Not only does Bomber thwart his plans, but also a corrupt police officer, his parents, and many other adults. But Fatty does not give up and always tries to raise money. After all, his friends help him again.
In the end, Fatty manages to get the money in a goat race. But he's too late, the radio has already been sold. But then it turns out that his father bought it. He'd been plagued by guilty conscience for taking money from Fatty for a Mother's Day present .
