Fausta Morganti

Fausta Simona Morganti (born August 20, 1944 ) is a San Marinese politician. In the summer of 2005 (April 1 to September 30) she was Capitano Reggente (together with Cesare Antonio Gasperoni ).

From 1978 to 1992 she was a member of the Congresso di Stato (government) and was responsible for education, justice, culture and higher education. During her tenure, she promoted the establishment of the International Academy of Sciences and the Università degli Studi di San Marino , reformed the school system and supported cultural initiatives in San Marino.

She has been a member of the Consiglio Grande e Generale (Parliament) since 1974, since the introduction of passive women's suffrage on the list of the Communist Party of San Marino . She was not re-elected in the 2006 elections. From 1974 to 1990 she was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party.

She was a member of the delegation of the Consiglio Grande e Generale to the OECD .

Fausta Morganti is a graduate philologist and was a teacher at the high school ( scuola superiore ) of San Marino.
