Fausti (born July 24, 1940 in Luxemburg ; civil Faustino Cima ) is a Luxemburgish entertainer .

Life

Fausti learned solfège , violin and clarinet as a child , and at the age of twelve he learned to play the harmonica , guitar and drums . At the age of 15 he became a professional musician and performed with the tango specialist Rico Tuxillo in Lugano . Since then he has been hired as a singer or percussionist by orchestral directors such as Jempi Kemmer and Jean Roderes, who were popular at the time. For a while he was with the Luxembourg Singers . He toured Switzerland , Belgium , Germany , Holland and Luxembourg, four years of which with his own band.

When Udo Jürgens won first place with Merci Chérie at the Grand Prix Eurovision de la Chanson in 1966 , Fausti was playing drums in the large accompanying orchestra. Fausti became known in Germany in 1969 with a German-language parody of Chris Andrews ' hit Pretty Belinda . This hit with the closing lines I can't swim, oh Pretty Belinda.
