Fausto Sarli

Fausto Sarli (born May 9, 1927 in Naples , † December 9, 2010 in Rome ) was an Italian fashion designer .

biography

Sarli presented his first collection at the age of 29 in 1954 in the Palazzo Pitti in Florence . In 1958 he opened his own fashion house in Naples. He ran studios in Rome on the Via Veneto and in Milan . Sarli exported its collections mainly to the United States , Canada , Japan and the Gulf States . He designed clothes for Ornella Vanoni , Carla Fracci , Valentina Cortese , Carla Bruni , Valeria Mazza , Mina , Liz Taylor and Monica Bellucci , among others .

The Italian President Giorgio Napolitano praised Sarli's originality, simplicity and quality in his condolence.
