Federico Limon

Federico G. Limon SVD (born October 3, 1915 in Mangaldan , Pangasinan ; † June 13, 1996 ) was a Filipino Roman Catholic clergyman and Archbishop of Lingayen-Dagupan between 1973 and 1991 .

Life

Limon was ordained a priest on May 14, 1942 and then worked as a clergyman for the Steyler missionaries for around thirty years .

On January 7, 1972 he was appointed coadjutor of the Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan and titular bishop of Aquaviva . A week later, on February 13, 1972, he was ordained bishop by Pope Paul VI. Co- consecrators were Bernard Jan Cardinal Alfrink , Archbishop of Utrecht , and William Cardinal Conway , Archbishop of Armagh .

A year later, on February 7, 1973, Limon succeeded Mariano Madriaga as Archbishop of Lingayen-Dagupan and held this office until his retirement on July 15, 1991. He was succeeded by Oscar V. Cruz , the former Archbishop of San Fernando .

As archbishop he was co-consecrator at the episcopal ordinations of Miguel Cinches 1973, Simeon O. Valerio 1974, Jesus Aputen Cabrera 1980, Vicente C. Manuel 1983 and Florentino Ferrer Cinense 1984.
