Feliksa Kozłowska
Feliksa Kozłowska , also known as Feliksa Koslowska, Felijca Kozlowska and Sister Maria Franciszka, (born May 27, 1862 in Wieliczna, Russian Empire (now Poland), † August 23, 1921 in Płock ) was a Polish sister and founded the Congregation of the Mariavites .
Life
Visions
Already in the early years of her life as a religious sister and in the years 1893 to 1918 she had her first visions , which were to recur periodically. Allegedly, during the first vision, she was asked to wage a fight against the decadent states of the world, with the support of the Roman Catholic priests in Poland. Furthermore, it should have been revealed to her that a new spiritual order was to be established, the primary goals of which would be the worship of the sacraments with the assistance of the Virgin Mary .
Order of the Mariavites
According to the rules of St. Clare , she first founded a congregation according to the rules of the Franciscans . She then placed her life and work under the protection of St. Mary and claimed to be inspired and guided by the Mother of God . She gave her congregation the name " Mariaviten " (Mariae vitam imitantes, i.e. the life of Mary who imitated her) and tried in 1903 to have the re-establishment approved by the Holy See . In April 1904, a delegation headed by the priest Jan Maria Michał Kowalski traveled to Rome to ask Pope Pius X for approval of the establishment of the order and to recognize the visions of Sister Maria Franziska, as she now called herself.

At first the Pope seemed to have a certain sympathy for this new religious group , but in December 1904 he allowed himself to be changed by the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith ; he now called the visions mentioned by Sister Maria hallucinations. Finally, with his encyclical " Tribus circiter " , the Pope forbade all activities of the Mariavites. When, however, no reaction was evident, the Pope took the last resort, excommunicating Feliksa Kozlowska on April 5, 1906 on the grounds that she was a heretic .
