Felix Fechenbach Vocational College in Detmold

The Felix-Fechenbach-Berufskolleg (FFB), based in Detmold, is a public school in North Rhine-Westphalia and combines four types of school under one roof: a vocational school , a vocational school , a technical school and a vocational high school . Depending on this, it is possible at the FFB to obtain various degrees, for example the technical college entrance qualification or the Abitur . The FFB is a training partner in the dual system of vocational training. In addition, courses are offered that lead to vocational orientation, basic vocational training or a school-based professional qualification.

Naming

The college was named after the journalist , social democrat and fighter against National Socialism Felix Fechenbach , who worked in Detmold in the 1920s and 1930s and was murdered in 1933 .

Partner schools

The FFB has a partner school in Chile , the Liceo Politecnico in Lebu . As part of this partnership, a joint project made it possible for after-school children to access the Internet via a network.

In 1997, a year after the Olympic Games in Atlanta , the partnership with the was Atlanta Technical College formally sealed. Since then, there has been a meeting trip between the two colleges every year, one year they meet in Atlanta, the other year in Detmold. In recognition of the merits of one of the first private sponsors, the program was renamed "Halle Exchange Program" after Claus Halle , the former president of Coca Cola International . Furthermore, as part of the city partnership between the city of Detmold and the Finnish city ​​of Savonlinna, there is a regular student exchange between the FFB and the local SAMI vocational college.

The official school partnership with the Miyagi National College of Technology (MNCT) in Natori / Japan has existed since 2003 . An essential part of the intensive relationships is the annual exchange of students.
