Felix Frommelt

Felix Frommelt (born July 4, 1842 in Eisenberg (Thuringia) , † September 25, 1886 in Roda ) was a German consular officer.

Life

Frommelt's parents were Judge Eduard Ludwig Frommelt and his wife Alwina, née Muntz. Frommelt attended the Lyceum in Eisenberg and the Friedrichgymnasium in Altenburg . After graduating from high school, he enrolled in law at the University of Jena in the summer semester of 1862 . In 1863 he was reciprocated in the Corps Guestphalia Jena . After the summer semester of 1863, he switched to the University of Leipzig as an inactive person . In 1866 he passed the trainee examination. On January 1, 1867, he entered the judicial and administrative service of the Duchy of Saxony-Altenburg . In 1869 he passed the assessor exam.

Under Otto von Bismarck , Frommelt entered the consular service of the Foreign Office . On October 27, 1869 he was appointed to the consulate of the North German Confederation in Beirut . After he had administered the Chancellor's office, he became Chancellor on December 18, 1871. From October 9, 1872, he worked as Vice Consul at the Moscow Consulate. From July to November 1874 he was entrusted with the provisional management of the consulate in Saint Petersburg . On November 30, 1874, he came to Trebizond on the Turkish Black Sea coast again as Vice Consul . 1875 Dr. iur. after receiving his doctorate, he was transferred to Sarajevo as consul on April 15, 1876 . In this capacity, Frommelt was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle  IV class and the Order of the Iron Crown III in 1878 . Class. Having fallen ill since 1883, he was first given leave and then put into temporary retirement on January 30, 1885. Frommelt died at the age of 44.
