Felix Schmidt (painter)

Friedrich Adolph Felix Schmidt (born June 6, 1857 in Lübbecke , Minden district ; † January 5, 1927 in Düsseldorf ) was a German landscape , animal and hunting painter , lithographer , illustrator and silhouette artist .

Life

Schmidt studied at the art academies in Leipzig and Munich , where Gyula Benczúr , Johann Leonhard Raab and Ludwig von Löfftz were his teachers. From 1884 he lived in Düsseldorf and became a member of the Malkasten artists' association . In addition to his painting, he illustrated non-fiction, children's and youth books, among others for the publishers Steinkamp (Duisburg) and Felix Bagel (Düsseldorf) .
