Femini - rock band from Berlin is a documentary of the Academy of Film and Television of the GDR of Petra Tschörtner from the year 1982 .

action

In the summer of 1981 the film people get to know Tina, who wants to start a band with Lieselotte and Manuela . Now they are excited to see when the first stage appearance will take place and will accompany the young women on their way there.

It begins with fundamental discussions about which style of rock music should be played at all. Lieselotte is of the opinion that it should by no means be music as it is played by the groups Puhdys and Prinzip , because that would only be a single rumble, music to shout along, but without level. At some point, however, there will come a time when rehearsals can begin. Music seems to have prevailed that goes in the direction of the Pankow group .

Christina Tina Powileit is introduced, who tells how she got into music and especially the drums and that she sometimes regrets not being able to run around on stage. Then there are discussions about the right line-up for the band. Now Lieselotte tells Liese Reznicek that she studied classical music at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden, graduating as a concert pianist and piano teacher. Here she also meets her husband Hans-Jürgen Reznicek, who studied light music and with whom she now has a son, Sebastian, who she is convinced is the best she has ever created. She also mentions that classical and entertainment are not enemies, only good and bad music. In the vicinity of an apartment to be renovated, Manuela Rehberg reports that, like Tina, she originally wanted to play the drums. However, things didn't go as she had imagined, so she switched to bass guitar , which she learned to play with the help of a private tutor. She is slightly doubtful about the project of a girls band, because many welcome the idea, but do not speak positively behind the hand.

The moment of the first appearance on a big stage comes. In a room full of soldiers they will perform six titles. Despite the tension, they do not lose their humor while putting on make-up in the cloakroom and the sentence is: "If we are playing shitty, we have to look good at least" and then, while the announcement as a group Femini from the capital, it goes on stage .

Production and publication

Some of the exterior shots were shot from the moving S-Bahn between Berlin Ostbahnhof and Berlin Alexanderplatz station.

Although no official performance date could be found for the film shot on ORWO -Color, it can be assumed that it has already been played somewhere in the past. Until an earlier date can be found, I simply set May 10, 2018 with a performance in the Berlin Kino Brotfabrik .
