The Ferchensee is a small mountain lake in the municipality of Mittenwald , Upper Bavaria , around three kilometers west of the town center.
The lake is located at 1060 meters above sea level south of the Hoher Kranzberg . The Lautersee is around 1500 meters to the east , from where you can continue over the Laintal to Mittenwald. Elmau Castle is around three kilometers northwest of the lake . The Ferchensee is fed by small mountain streams, of which only the drum racket pit in the southwest is named. The Ferchenbach flows off to the north-northwest . In summer it reaches temperatures of over 20 degrees. The water is very clean. There is an inn on the bank and in summer a kiosk with boat rental.
