Ferdinand Geizkofler von Gailenbach and Haunsheim (born June 19, 1592 in Augsburg , † February 2, 1653 in Regensburg or Ulm ) was a baron and the Württemberg court chancellery director.

Life

Ferdinand Geizkofler was born in 1592 as the only child of Zacharias Geizkofler von Gailenbach and Haunsheim (1560-1617) and his wife Maria Jakobine (née Rehlinger ; † 1600). His father had been Reichspfennigmeister of the Holy Roman Empire since 1597 and had built the castle in Haunsheim and the castle Gailenbach in Edenbergen .

In 1618 in the Swabian town of Wäschenbeuren near Göppingen , Ferdinand founded the local rifle clubTo maintain good company and neighborhood, also for the sake of several entertainment. “In 1622 he sold Gailenbach Castle for 11,000 thalers to the merchant Matthias Koch (1581–1633). Ferdinand was raised to the baron status in 1625 and appointed to the regimental council. Since 1644 he was the Württemberg court chancellery director.

Ferdinand died in 1653 without a male heir, so that the Swabian line of the family established by his father died out again in the second generation. The ancestral family of Geizkofler only died out in 1730 with the death of Franz Joseph Geizkofler in their original homeland, Tyrol . Ferdinand's widow from his third marriage, Maria Polixena (born von Teuffenbach; 1625–1696), and his daughter Maria Elisabeth married into the baronial von Racknitz family , so that Haunsheim Castle became the property of this family who immigrated from Styria .
