Ferdinand Heuckenkamp

Ferdinand Heuckenkamp (born April 10, 1862 in Pappenheim , † April 9, 1938 in Greifswald ) was a German Romanist .

life and work

Heuckenkamp studied Romance philology in Geneva , Munich , Strasbourg and Halle an der Saale . He received his doctorate in Halle in 1887 on Die Heilige Dimphna (Munich 1887) and completed his habilitation there in 1891 under Hermann Suchier on Le dit de la rose by Christine von Pisan (Halle on page 1891). From 1891 to 1894 he was a lecturer in French, otherwise a private lecturer . In 1902 he was appointed to Greifswald , where he was associate professor until 1921 and full professor for Romance philology from 1921 until his retirement (1927).
