Ferdinand Kortmann

Ferdinand Kortmann (born February 6, 1913 in Nordkirchen ; † January 25, 1988 ) was a German entrepreneur, local politician and honorary district administrator ( CDU ).

Life and work

After attending school, he completed a technical training course and studied at the building trade school in Münster. In 1936 he passed the master builder exam . After his military service from 1939 to 1945, Kortmann joined his father's construction company and later managed it.

He was married and had four children.

MP

He was a member of the district council of the Lüdinghausen district from 1961 to December 31, 1974 ( territorial reform ). From 1975 to 1979 he was a member of the district council of the Coesfeld district . He also served from 1952 to 1961 a member of the council of the municipality of northern churches.

From 1975 to 1979 he was a member of the landscape assembly of the Regional Association of Westphalia-Lippe .

Public offices

From December 4, 1969 to December 31, 1974 he was district administrator of the Lüdinghausen district and from 1975 to 1979 deputy district administrator of the Coesfeld district.

Kortmann was active in various committees of the district council of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Others

On December 18, 1973, Kortmann was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class. Ferdinand-Kortmann-Strasse in Nordkirchen was named after him.
