Live and act

As a boy around 1804, Thadden Junker was in the Renouard infantry regiment, which his father led until 1800 . Thadden became an ensign in 1806 and released from the old army in 1807 soon after the lost battle of Jena .

At the beginning of November 1813, Second Lieutenant Thadden, together with Rittmeisters Michelmann and Schulz, was authorized to recruit volunteers in Aschersleben , and on January 12, 1814, Thadden, as Prime Lieutenant, became leader of the 2nd Squadron in the voluntary hunter detachment of the newly established Elb-National -Hussar Regiment . On April 1, 1814, Thadden's squadron fell into French cannon fire on a path near Klein- Ottersleben , but was largely spared as the shells did not explode on the rain-softened clay soil. On April 27, 1814, he joined the 10th Hussar Regiment in the Magdeburg Fortress as prime lieutenant , while the volunteer hunter squadrons were released.

After participating in the Battle of Wavre , Thadden was assigned to the Ukraine on October 15, 1815 with 26 unmounted soldiers from the regiment near Montfort to pick up Remonten under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Witowski . He returned in June 1816 and was appointed Rittmeister and Chief of the 3rd Squadron on Dec. 10, 1816, which had garrisons in Aschersleben.

In the peace years around 1827, Rittmeister Thadden worked hard to improve the town of Aschersleben and its surroundings. Together with the councilor August Bernhard Christian Körte, he organized cherry tree planting and lawn benches on Wolfsberg and an old gymnastics area, founded a town beautification association with Körte, ensured the paving of the path to Salzkoth with the installation of benches on the Nonnenwiese and initiated the planting of linden trees, the Erection of benches and the creation of paths on the Herrenbreite .

On March 30, 1836, Thadden was promoted to major and transferred to the 2nd Leib-Hussar Regiment as a regular staff officer . On the occasion of his departure and because of his services to the beautification of the city, he was made an honorary citizen of Aschersleben on April 13, 1836. On September 20, 1841, as a lieutenant colonel with the right to wear the uniform, he was granted leave of the army.
