Ferdinand Liebsch
Ferdinand Liebsch (born January 21, 1816 in Hanover , † December 4, 1905 in Hanover) was a painter and court - porcelain painter in Hanover and ran a glass and porcelain shop at 23 Calenberger Straße . From 1860 he ran one of the first "photographic institutions" in Hanover.
Works
In addition to his work as a porcelain painter, Liebsch created landscape and genre paintings as well as book illustrations. As a photographer, he mainly took portrait photos, but also took photos of everyday scenes. A photo print of the weekly market in Neustadt from 1863 on albumen paper , produced using the wet collodion process , is in the possession of the Hanover Historical Museum . The photo is considered an early example of photojournalism .
Awards
In 1865 Liebsch was awarded a medal from the Photographischer Verein zu Berlin at the first international photographic exhibition in Berlin .
