Ferdinand Manndorff

Ferdinand "Ferry" Manndorff (born November 22, 1922 in Raabs an der Thaya , Lower Austria ; † September 25, 2013 in Hinterbrühl ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

Life

Ferdinand Manndorff is a descendant of the Manndorff family and grandson of Ferdinand Mannlicher . He is the father of Andy Manndorff .

After 1941 his graduation had taken off, he studied at the University of Vienna Jus and Political Sciences.

As a journalist, he was head of the Viennese editorial department of the Salzburger Nachrichten from 1949 to 1956 and then editor for the press until 1960 . As editor-in-chief of Politische Korrespondenz , he was also managing director of the Institute for Economics and Politics and later managing director of the Working Group for Politics and Science.

From 1972 he was a local councilor in Hinterbrühl and from 1974 deputy mayor, where he headed the regional planning committee, under Mayor Erich Spindelegger , whom he replaced in 1989 and who himself became mayor. From 1975 he was a member of the Lower Austrian state parliament , from which he moved to the National Council in 1980 and held the mandate until 1989.
