Ferdinand Melichar

Ferdinand Melichar (born December 4, 1938 in Berlin ) is a lawyer in Germany.

Career

Melichar studied law at the Universities of Geneva , Salzburg and Munich . This was followed by postgraduate studies at the University of Luxembourg in the field of European law . He did his doctorate at the University of Freiburg with Manfred Rehbinder .

He established himself as a lawyer in Munich in 1968 . His main focus is on copyright and publishing law as well as media law . He has been with the Munich law firm Grub Brugger since 2011.

From 1984 to 2009 he was a managing board member of the collecting society Wort and from 1988 to 1993 chairman of the International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organizations (IFFRO).

From 1988 he held a teaching position for copyright and publishing law at the University of Munich and was appointed honorary professor there in 2000. Since 2009 he has been giving master's courses at Berlin's Humboldt University .
