Ferdinand Wilhelm von Bayern (* August 25, 1620 , † October 23, 1629 ), who died at the age of 9, was the owner of canon praisees in Münster , Cologne and Salzburg .

Life

Origin and family

Ferdinand Wilhelm von Bayern came from the Wittelsbach family and was the son of Albrecht von Bayern (1584–1666, Duke of Bavaria – Leuchtenberg ) and his wife Mechthildis von Leuchtenberg (1588–1634), daughter of Landgrave Georg Ludwig and his wife Princess Marie Salome of Baden-Baden. His brother Karl Johann Franz (1618–1640) was Prince of Bavaria , Maximilian Heinrich (1621–1688) Elector and Archbishop of Cologne and Albrecht Sigismund (1623–1685) Prince-Bishop of Regensburg and Freising.

Prebend

On 16 September 1625 a commission was on in the name of Ferdinand Wilhelm Münstersche Dompräbende the Provost Otto von Dorgelo presented. Proof of parentage followed four days later. Thereupon, after an indult by Pope Urban VIII. On June 18 and July 18, 1626 , Elector Ferdinand handed over the free Münster cathedral provost to Ferdinand Wilhelm. On July 31, 1626 he took possession of the prebende. He also owned prebends of the Cologne and Salzburg cathedral chapters.
