Fernand Vallon
Fernand Vallon (born November 5, 1896 in Vernouillet , † November 13, 1962 ) was a French racing driver .
Racing career
With the overall victory of Jean-Pierre Wimille and Pierre Veyron in the Bugatti 57C Tank at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1939 , there was a turning point in the 24 Hours of Western France. The Second World War and the first post-war years interrupted the race for a decade. When this first phase of the event came to an end, the Frenchman Fernand Vallon was the driver with the most starts at Le Mans. Between 1924 - the first race was held in 1923 - and in 1934 he competed ten times. After failures in 1924 and 1925 , he achieved fourth place overall in 1927, the best placement in all of his missions. His compatriot Lucien Desvaux was a partner in the 1.5 liter SCAP . In 1930 (with Jean-Albert Grégoire ) and 1931 (with Just-Émile Vernet ) he celebrated class victories.
His greatest success apart from Le Mans was winning the Bol d'Or in 1932 .
