Fernando Menegazzo or Fernando for short (born May 3, 1981 in Anita Garibaldi ) is a former Brazilian soccer player .

Career

Fernando Menegazzo's professional career began in January 2001 in his Brazilian homeland at EC Juventude . For the following season he was loaned to the league rivals Gremio Porto Alegre and returned to Juventude after a year. This time, however, he only stayed six months before moving to Europe in the summer of 2003 , to the Italian first division club AC Siena . After 24 games and two goals, he was loaned again in the winter break of the 2004/05 season and joined Calcio Catania , where he played only six months and completed a total of 18 games. In July 2005 he signed a contract with the French first division club Girondins Bordeaux . In the summer of 2007, teammates such as Julien Faubert , Stéphane Dalmat , Rio Antonio Mavuba and Vladimír Šmicer left the club. Menegazzo decided not to move and extended his contract. In the meantime, the midfielder has become the team's top performer. At the end of the 2006/07 season he was able to win the Coupe de la Ligue with the southern French . In the final, they beat Olympique Lyon 1-0 . A year later, shortly after the summer break, the team defeated Lyon for the second time in a final. In the game for the Trophée des Champions , Bordeaux won 5-4 from a penalty. In summer 2011 he moved to Al-Shabab in Saudi Arabia . He played there for three years and then joined Club Bruges . After one season and the national cup victory , he ended his active career there in summer 2015.

National team

Fernando Menegazzo took part in the 2001 Copa America with the Brazilian national team in Colombia . However, it was not used there. Six years later he was nominated for the 2007 Copa America . In Venezuela , the team won the tournament.
