The Ober-Olm telecommunications tower (also known as the Mainz 3 radio transmission point ) is a transmitter for VHF between Ober-Olm and Essenheim in the Mainz-Bingen district . There are also eleven radio links.

The now 108.35 meter high telecommunications tower of the Deutsche Funkturm was built in 1966 as a 70.35 meter type tower for the German Federal Post Office . The increase took place in 1990. The tower is nicknamed "Olmi" or "Ober-Olmer Asparagus" among the population.
