Ferulago thyrsiflora is a species of the genus Ferulago in the umbelliferae family(Apiaceae). It only occurs in Crete .

description

Ferulago thyrsiflora is a perennial herbaceous plant , stem hemicryptophyte , which reaches heights of growth of 90 to 120 centimeters. The stem is furrowed. The nodes are not thickened. The leaves are three to four times pinnate and triangular in outline. The leaf sections are thread-like, narrow, smooth and 30 to 40 millimeters long.

The double umbels are more or less whorled. The bracts and bracts are narrowly triangular or linear. The petals are yellow. The fruit stalks are half as long as the fruit. The fruits are approx. 8 mm long, narrowly ellipsoidal with narrow lateral wings.

The flowering period extends from June to July.

Systematics

This species was first described in 1806 by James Edward Smith under the Basionym Ferula thyrsiflora ; it was placed in 1824 by Wilhelm Daniel Joseph Koch as Ferulago thyrsiflora in the genus Ferulago .

Occurrence

Ferulago thyrsiflora is endemic to Crete . It grows in crevices at altitudes from 0 to 1200 meters.
