Festenburg is a settlement in the Altenau-Schulenberg district in the Upper Harz Mountains in the mountain town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld in the Goslar district in Lower Saxony .

Festenburg is located in the west of the Upper Harz . Oberschulenberg is one kilometer southeast of the settlement . Three kilometers to the east is the core town of Schulenberg in the Upper Harz Mountains , five and a half kilometers southeast of the mountain town of Altenau , five kilometers to the southwest of the mining town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld and eight kilometers to the northeast of the district town of Goslar .

To the east of the settlement is the Schalke pond .

history

Oberschulenberg belonged to the community of Schulenberg in the Upper Harz , which was incorporated into Clausthal-Zellerfeld on January 1, 2015.

Transport links

Festenburg is at the end of a small access road about two kilometers long that branches off from state road 517 between the mountain towns of Altenau and Clausthal-Zellerfeld.
