Fidelino Loy de Jesus Figueiredo (born September 8, 1937 in Luanda , Portuguese West Africa ) is an Angolan diplomat. He has been representing Angola in several countries from Singapore since 2011 .

Career

From 1967 to 1994 Figueiredo worked as an officer for external relations and industrial development at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Vienna . From 1994 he was the permanent representative for Angola at the United Nations in Vienna, UNIDO, the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC). In 1995 there was also the office of ambassador for Austria and from 2004 also for Croatia and Slovenia .

On June 1, 2011 Figueiredo received his appointment as the third Angolan ambassador to Singapore ever. On August 25, he delivered his credentials to Singapore's President Sellapan Ramanathan . From Singapore, Figueiredo also represents Angola in Australia (accreditation May 27, 2016), New Zealand and East Timor . His term of office ends in 2019.

Figueiredo is married to Christine de Figueiredo and has two children.

He has a doctorate in political science from the University of Vienna . In addition to his native Portuguese, Figueiredo speaks German, French, English, Spanish and Italian.
