Franz Josef Johann Ignaz Anton von Ritz (born August 1 or August 3, 1778 in Düsseldorf ; died January 21, 1836 there ) was Bergischer Hofrat and Prussian district administrator .

Life

The Catholic Franz Joseph Freiherr von Ritz came from an old Rhenish noble family. His father, Friedrich Freiherr von Ritz, was Jülich privy councilor and president of the Bergisches Hofrat in Düsseldorf. It came from his connection with Carolina Dorothea. Theodora von Bottlenberg called Schirp. On October 14, 1807, Franz Joseph married Francoise Aglaé Constance Désiré Yolande de Copis de Goislen (born in Liège; died before 1836) in St. Lambert's Church in Düsseldorf .

1796 Franz Joseph took Ritz at the University in Göttingen studying jurisprudence on. In 1804 he was a member of the Bergischer Hof as a privy councilor and on January 11, 1805 he was appointed Bergisches Marsch-Kommissar . With the transfer of the Duchy of Berg to Napoleon , the previous court came to an end and von Ritz retired. Under the legal successor of the Duchy, the Grand Duchy of Berg , von Ritz again took on the position of General March Commissioner in 1813/1814, but was put on waiting money in the course of its end .

With the formation of the Jülich-Kleve-Berg province and the establishment of the new districts, Franz Joseph von Ritz was initially appointed as district commissioner in Lennep on May 1, 1816, where he was entrusted with the administration of the Lennep district . On January 1, 1817, he received the implementation as the new district administrator of the Mettmann district , from the middle of 1820 ill, he retired with a general cabinet order of August 24, 1820 because of "poor health". After his departure, the Mettmann district was merged with the Elberfeld district and was only re-established under its original name in 1861 after the towns of Barmen and Elberfeld had been spun off .
