Karl Cappe

Georg Philipp Ludwig Karl Cappe (born July 29, 1770 in Herchenhain ; died March 4, 1833 in Krefeld ) was the Prussian district administrator for the Krefeld district from 1817 to 1832.

Life

The Protestant Karl Cappe was the son of the pastor Ludwig Cappe and his wife Auguste. In 1796 he married in Friedberg with Charlotte Catherine of Helmolt (born December 6, 1769 in Friedberg, died April 4, 1850 in Krefeld), the daughter of the Friedberger postmaster Jacob Ludwig von Helmolt from his marriage to Mary of Helmolt, born Venator.

After apparently legal training, Cappe was hired as a lawyer and procurator in Friedberg on January 16, 1793 , and on September 1, 1795 he entered the service of Count Christian Carl von Alt-Leiningen-Westerburg . In 1806 he took over as administrator (administrator), the counties Westerburg , gunwale and Runkel within the newly formed Grand Duchy of Berg before with end of 1809 the position of division heads at the Prefecture of on the territory of the former Duchy of Berg newly built Rhine department with took over responsibility for police and military affairs. There he retired on November 1 and with the Dimissoriale on October 8, 1832, after the District Deputy Franz von Rigal from June 2 to August 20, and Jakob Benjamin Heydweiller from August to September 1832, acting as a representative or by order perceived. From September 3, 1832, Konrad Melsbach finally took over the administration of the Krefeld district.
