Filial church Einersdorf

The Roman Catholic branch church Einersdorf is a branch of the Bleiburg parish and is dedicated to the feast of the Assumption . The church in Einersdorf / Nonča Vas in the Bleiburg community was first mentioned in a document in 1480 and was probably the Bleiburg cemetery church.

Building description

A slightly taller and wider Gothic choir from the end of the 14th century adjoins the nave with a gable roof . it is supported by three-tiered buttresses . On the north side of the choir stands the slender Gothic tower with a painted jagged frieze, ogival sound openings and a pyramid helmet. The sacristy is on the south side of the choir. The Romanesque nave in the walls was raised in the 17th century, the original windows in the north and south walls were bricked up and replaced by baroque openings. Three staggered Romanesque windows have been preserved on the west facade. In 1985 frescoes from around 1400 were uncovered on the southern outer wall, which are attributed to the master of Einersdorf. The crucifix on the south wall of the ship was made around 1500.

The originally flat ceiling in the single-nave nave was replaced around 1630 by a six-bay stab cap barrel on arched half-columns. The three-axis west gallery on polygonal, late-Gothic supports is arched with a groin. A pointed arched, profiled triumphal arch connects the nave with the two-bay choir with a five-eighth end . A ribbed vault rests over the choir on services . Profiled portals lead into the tower and the sacristy. In the tracery of the choir windows remains of ornamental, Gothic stained glass have been preserved.

Murals

The Gothic wall paintings were exposed in 1913 and 1963. On the north wall of the triumphal arch in the choir, a third Anna and the donor family are depicted. The frescoes on the north wall of the choir show the disputation of St. Catherine and her imprisonment, the unbelieving Thomas with the risen Christ and a Madonna enthroned between Peter and Catherine. The procession and the adoration of the Magi are shown on the south wall , the right half of the picture is only a preliminary drawing. In the choir vault, the ribs in the crown of the vault are marbled and accompanied by ornamental strips. Two coats of arms and a head of Christ are painted on the keystones. These frescoes, created around 1400, are eponymous for the master von Einersdorf . The master probably originally came from South Tyrol and was influenced by the northern Italian painters of the 14th century. His figures have elongated bodies that bend slightly forward. The linear design is emphasized by the wide contour. The folds of the clothes fall in straight lines to the floor, where the fabric briefly creases. The enthroned Madonna and above all the unbelieving Thomas deviate from these features by a more pronounced spatial representation. The art historian Andreas Besold attributes it to the Altenmarkt master.

The frescoes painted in picture strips on the north wall of the nave were made around 1470/1480. The lower parts were lost; Parts of the scenes are hidden by the pillars that were later inserted. The Annunciation , the Visitation of the Virgin Mary , the birth of Christ , the child murder in Bethlehem and the flight to Egypt are depicted .

Facility

The baroque high altar from the end of the 17th century has a two-zone, older structure, which is decorated with flower tendrils and fittings. The central niche contains a life-size, Gothic stone figure of a Madonna from 1340/1350 with a Baroque reworked baby Jesus, in the side niches are the sculptures of Joachim and Anna self-third . The Ascension is depicted on the upper floor, flanked by the figures of Saint John d. T. and Johannes Ev . The conclusion is a statue of the Virgin, surrounded by two saints.

The two side altars were made in 1700, the two console figures in the choir date from the 18th century, the crucifix in the nave from the middle of the 18th century.
