architecture

Church exterior

The late Romanesque church has a nave under a half-hipped roof and a square choir under a continuous gable roof with a strongly protruding round apse. The apse is crowned by a square clapboard roof turret under a steep tent roof. The simply plastered building has high-lying, arched slit windows with funnel walls from the construction period. There are other larger, adapted windows around 1752. The nave without a portal on the west side has a round arched portal inserted in 1903/1904 with a door fitting from the 16th century. The late medieval sacristy , which protruded to the south, was extended a little to the west in 1903/1904.

Church interior

The nave hall received a wooden ceiling in 1972/73. The retracted triumphal arch is pushed apart by pushing the vault. The deep round apse with a domed vault connects to the groin vaulted choir. In the south wall of the choir there is a round arched passage with a door fitting from the 16th century to the sacristy under a barrel vault.

Furnishing

The high altar is a block altar with a carved crucifixion group from the 2nd quarter of the 17th century. The side altars made of altar stones show canvas pictures, on the left Maria Immaculata and on the right St. Joseph . There is a statue of St. Nicholas from the middle of the 15th century between two putti from the 2nd quarter of the 17th century, a remarkable half-figure Madonna from the 1st half of the 18th century and a former altarpiece St. Nicholas with the Trinity from the 1st third of the 18th century.
