The filial church of St. Joseph (also referred to as: Filialkirche Reindlmühl ) is located in the cadastral parish Reindlmühl of the Upper Austrian market town of Altmünster in the Gmunden district . The Roman Catholic branch church is consecrated to St. Joseph of Nazareth and belongs to the parish of the Altmünster parish church in the Gmunden deanery . The sacred building is a listed building .

history

The first church building association was founded in Reindlmühl as early as 1893, but after the First World War it disbanded without any results. From autumn 1937, church services were held in the chapel of the elementary school. On March 1, 1942, the Reindlmühl school district became a chaplain .

On November 1, 1955, Diocesan Bishop Franz Salesius Zauner laid the foundation stone and after only eleven months, the completed church was consecrated on August 5, 1956. The bells are dated 1958. A funeral hall followed in 1976. The planning of the branch church was the responsibility of the then cathedral master builder Gottfried Nobl . The church building was actively supported by a voluntary working group (robot provider).

In Upper Austria, there are seven churches, which as a patron saint of the Holy. Own Joseph the Worker . Remembrance day is May 1st.

Church furnishings

The altar painting and the four evangelists on the pulpit are by Franz Xaver Neuhuber from Gmunden. On the side altar is the Madonna and Child by the well-known late Gothic carver Lienhart Astl , around 1520.

The lead glass windows on the north side were made in 1985. The altar window is dedicated to St. Florian . The Way of the Cross was attached to the wall surface by Hans Babuder using the so-called sgraffito stucco technique .
