Branch church Pirk
The Roman Catholic branch church Pirk in the municipality of Krumpendorf am Wörthersee is consecrated to St. Ulrich . A church in Pirk was first mentioned in a document in 1321. She initially belonged to Maria Wörth or Viktring . From 1466 she was subordinate to Maria Saal. Today Pirk is a branch of the Krumpendorf parish .
Building description
The core of the church is a Romanesque choir tower church built around 1200 . The four-storey tower with Romanesque biforic windows and a south-facing light slit is crowned by a pyramid helmet. The sacristy extension with an inner spiral staircase comes from the late Gothic period . The round apse, the southern side chapel and the western vestibule over Tuscan round columns were added in the Baroque and 19th century. On the north side are the heraldic grave slab of Heilecker from the 16th century and the tombstone of Elenore von Keindlingen († 1789). You enter the church through a profiled Gothic pointed arch portal.
In the nave, a burr cross vault rests on pillars and has ornamental painting from the 16th century. The tower square is cross-vaulted and connected on the south side with the barrel-vaulted baroque Annenkapelle. The spacious baroque choir has a barrel vault with stitch caps and lunette windows.
Facility
The high altar from the beginning of the 18th century bears the figures of Saints Ulrich, Leonhard and Florian . In Volksaltar a carved around 1740 baroque is Antependium incorporated. The built around 1725 Annenaltar comes from the parish Metnitz and displays on with ornate Laubbandlwerk ornate altarpiece from the 19th century, the Holy Anna with Maria and the Fourteen Holy Helpers in painted medallions. The holy water font next to the entrance is marked 1673.
